FEEDING SPECIFICATIONS
The NuZu® Feeds Grazer Diet has been formulated by Ph.D. level animal nutritionists to satisfy the nutritional requirements of grazing herbivores.
This product should be supplied at approximately 1 to 2 percent of body weight as a single component in a comprehensive feeding program.
All components of the feeding curriculum should be considered prior to deciding on a final ration.
All roughage sources, including grass and alfalfa hay and browse should be analyzed for nutritional content.
Proper analytical procedures will allow for a more complete evaluation of the dietary profile and assist in developing individual and appropriate supplementation procedures.
PLEASE NOTE:
Grazing herbivores can differ significantly from their browser counterparts. Factors such as volume and length of gastrointestinal morphology, natural feeding ecology
and gastric physiology necessitate that feeding programs be specific to grazer vs. browser species. The range and scope of these differences may vary however, and it is
recommended that feeding systems for exotic hoof stock be reviewed and or formulated by a qualified comparative animal nutritionist. In addition, it is recommended that
husbandry professionals become familiar with the basic gastric anatomy and physiology of the species in their care.
FINAL DIET
Individual ration quantities, i.e. the amount of grain fed per animal and per day, should be supplied according to factors such as species, age, physiological status
and individual health status. All of these parameters, in addition to the nutrient profile of all roughage sources, may affect the amount of grain required by your animal
to meet its individual nutritional demands. It is highly recommended that you consult with a qualified nutritionist or veterinarian prior to establishing dietary procedures
for any exotic species.
